Every band here started as a place we wanted to spend time in. Galway, the hour before a storm. A bus station at 2 AM. A cathedral that's empty except for one person. Once the place exists, the band shows up. The songs follow.
We use the tools that are available to us — the same way the engineers at Muscle Shoals once used a four-track, the same way Brian Eno used a tape loop, the same way Daft Punk used a vocoder. Whatever gets the feeling right. The work is in the picking, the listening, the staying out of the way once the take's right.
Static & Soul are three people from Galway. They'll never tour. They'll never break up. They release a song whenever they have one to say.
